Recognizing Native American service
Local artist Mickey Harris discusses some of the details about his latest piece of art - a 2014 Ford Raptor pickup truck adorned with airbrush art depicting Native American soldiers throughout history. The truck is owned by Wounded Warrior Family Support, a charitable organization that provides services to veterans returning from overseas. Harris said the plan is to have the truck taken on a tour of Native American casinos around the country to help raise awareness about Native American contributions to the United States military as well as funds for Wounded Warrior Family Support. The car will eventually be auctioned off at the famed Barrett-Jackson auto auction to raise additional funds for the charity. Harris had the truck on display for the public Saturday, Feb. 27 at Classic Collision & Frame in Menno.
