Winter cheer
A plastic snowman greets passersby on Pine Street in Menno Monday morning, Dec. 7. Despite above average temperatures in Menno the last week, a heavy blanket of snow remains on the ground throughout the area. Temperatures were expected to climb as high as 50 degrees this week and expected to fall back down into the 30s with the arrival of the weekend. Local weather observations indicate it has been wetter for this time of year than in previous years. For the year through November,  Menno has received 27.32 inches of precipitation, which is 4.21 inches above normal.
