Final strides
Tyler Handel, center, a senior at Menno High School and a member of the boys track team, runs in the 100 meter dash preliminaries at the 2011 South Dakota State B Track Meet at Howard Wood in Sioux Falls Friday, May 27. Handel qualified for the finals in the event, where he posted a time of 11.49, good enough for fourth place. Kory Henrichs, a senior at Menno High School, runs in the preliminaries of the 200 meter dash at the 2011 South Dakota State B Track Meet at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls. Henrichs ran a time of 25.39 but did not qualify for the finals.
Christina Herrboldt, a freshman at Menno High School, vaulted 7-0 in the girls pole vault event last weekend at the state track meet.
Ben Fischer, a junior at Menno High School, placed 7th in the boys pole vault competition at the 2011 South Dakota State B Track Meet last weekend in Sioux Falls. Fischer, who also placed with the boys 4x100 meter relay team, vaulted 11-6 in the competition.
In addition to the boys 4x100 meter relay, Robert Schoenfish, a senior at Menno High School, also participated in the boys pole vault event. Schoenfish did not clear the opening height.

Katelyn Kotalik, a junior at Menno High School, runs during the girls 100 meter hurdles event at the 2011 South Dakota State Track Meet Friday, May 27 at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls. Kotalik, who tied for third place in the girls pole vault competition, ran the race 18.32. She did not qualify for finals in the event.
