Running down records
Menno High School track team members Tyler Handel, left, and Kory Henrichs, right, race in the 100 meter dash at the Menno Relays track meet in Menno Monday, May 9. After weather forced the postponement of the meet earlier this season, the event got underway earlier this week and saw a number of meet records fall. Handel took first in the 100 meter event and set a new meet record with a time of 10.88, beating the previous record of 11.01 set in 2003 by Justin Horn of Tripp-Delmont. Handel also broke the record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.60, beating the previous record of 22.99 set by Dean Herrboldt of Freeman Public in 1990.
