Looking for birds

Volunteers were out in force Saturday morning and afternoon, Oct. 24, looking to scare up pheasants for the second year of the pheasant hunt for disabled veterans. The event, sponsored by the Rames-Bender Post 152 American Legion, saw dozens of hunters turn out to help push pheasants for disabled veterans that were stationed as blockers. Both volunteers and the veterans got shots during the day. The group hunted land owned by the Dan Auch family south of Menno in the morning and afternoon, and then retired to the Legion Hall in Menno in the late afternoon where food was waiting for the group
