Workers tear out a portion of sidewalk on the south side of Poplar Street between Fifth Street and Railway Street Monday morning, July 31. After a run of warm temperatures last week, the weather forecast indicated a cooling trend on the way to the area, with highs reaching only into the low 80s for the next week.
