Jared Nelson, a member of the Menno Mad Frogs amateur baseball team, slugs a hit during the team’s elimination game against Irene in the District 6B Amateur Baseball Tournament in Irene Thursday evening, July 30. The Mad Frogs started slow but came on strong later in the game, winning 6-4 and qualifying for the 2015 South Dakota State B Amateur Baseball Tournament in Mitchell. Also qualifying from District 6B were Tabor, Freeman and Crofton, Neb. Menno is scheduled to take on Armour in the first round of the state tournament. That game is scheduled for Sunday morning at 11 a.m., Aug. 9 at Cadwell Park in Mitchell.
