On the hunt for eggs
Emmarie Rames, 5, puts an egg in her basket during the Easter egg hunt held at the Menno-Olivet Care Center Saturday afternoon, April 4. Several dozen youngsters, along with their parents and family members, converged on the facility to participate in the hunt, which was held in the dining room of the facility with center residents present as well as the outside courtyard area. The weather was ideal for outdoor egg hunting, with high temperatures approaching 70 degrees with sunny skies. Residents in the Menno area continue to look for rain to fight the dry conditions despite light rains on Monday and Tuesday. Official readings from Menno indicate only 1.09 inches of precipitation have fallen since Jan. 1. Normal precipitation for this time of year is 2.61 inches, making Menno 1.52 inches below normal. The community was already 0.99 inches below normal precipitation for all of 2014.
