Yearly flooding
Water from the James River encroaches on the river access area just of Highway 18 in Olivet Monday morning, April 4. While the flooding of the access park area is a yearly occurrence, officials with Hutchinson County say flooding conditions throughout the county are less than severe than this time last year. Most flooding is taking place directly in the James River valley and adjacent roads. Officials are reminding residents to be wary of country road conditions and two watch for red warning flags that can indicate a soft road due to frost melt or other hazards.
